John Wesley Penn and his family farmed this land dating back to the early 1800’s. The state of Texas has preserved this farm within a state park. Most of the buildings are original. Some were reconstructed, when needed, in their original form
The farm equipment used in those days is still present for viewing as well as the houses and barns.
They raised cattle and horses. The fields were planted in cotton and grain. The farm is located just 16 miles South of downtown Dallas. Anyone wanting to visit can take a self guided tour or request a schedule of guided tours.
Because of the age of this farm, I chose to display it in black and white as if it was shot in the 1800's
